An Unforgettable Trip to Stuttgart by Peña Atlética de Alemania

The trip kicked off on Monday with the arrival of the first fan club members in Stuttgart, full of excitement for what was to come. The highlight of the day was the exclusive Meet & Greet held at the team hotel, where 10 lucky members of our peña had the opportunity to meet Dávid Hancko and Marc Pubill in person. It was an unforgettable encounter, filled with laughter, hugs, and even a few emotional kisses!

To cap off a perfect first day, two representatives from our supporters’ club had the honor of dining alongside Atlético de Madrid’s board and club representatives at the team hotel, further strengthening the bonds between Peña Atlética de Alemania and the club.

Tuesday: Get-Together at the Biergarten and Media Coverage

Tuesday—match day at last—marked the start of the great rojiblanco celebration. Masterfully organized by Carmen, the gathering kicked off at 2:00 PM at a cozy beer garden located right next to the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). With traditional pork knuckles, ice-cold beer, and our customary songs and chants, the atmosphere was simply unbeatable.

The day also had significant media coverage: our president served as a fantastic spokesperson, representing the peña and the spirit of atletismo in both German and Spanish across several media outlets.

The Red-and-White Tide on the U-Bahn and March to the Stadium

After the feast and with spirits running sky-high, we set off toward the official meeting point. The subway ride turned into an impromptu party: we didn’t stop singing and chanting the entire way, bringing smiles to local German commuters and spreading good vibes.

From the meeting point, the main pre-match event began: a spectacular march of over a thousand colchoneros walking together toward the stadium, escorted by the police, without stopping their singing and cheering for a single second.

The Match and the Stadium Atmosphere

We entered the stadium an hour before kickoff so as not to miss a thing. We were treated to a sensational atmosphere and the impressive tifos prepared by the VfB Stuttgart supporters.

After such an intense and fun buildup, the match itself ended up feeling almost like an afterthought! Atleti drew 1–1 in a hard-fought contest that included a clear red card for our side. Despite being down to ten men, the team held on, and we headed home completely satisfied with the point earned.

An Unbeatable Summary

It was a truly incredible trip. Even the weather was on our side: we enjoyed glorious sunshine in the beer garden and unusually mild temperatures—something far from typical for this time of year in Germany.
